When I gave birth, people told me, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ Today, I can tell you that it takes two to grow a start-up.
Because entrepreneurship isn't just about ‘enjoying your freedom’ and ‘turning markets upside down.’ It's about waking up with a thousand ideas and going to bed with a thousand doubts.
(If, of course, you have the luxury of sleeping). 🙃
And in all that chaos, you need allies. Real allies.
Our investors are an example of that.
But I'm not talking about a cheque and a thumbs up during a quarterly video call.
I'm talking about people who are committed, who expose themselves, who take risks with you. I'm talking about people who:
👉 analyse your silence.
👉 tell you what you don't want to hear.
👉 help you turn a vague idea into a clear action plan.
Because yes, boards are fine.
But they are often too far apart, too superficial, too polite, too polished. Too far from reality.
That's why I wanted to do things differently at Jobloom.
We organised our very first Investor Day with workshops to stimulate reflection. And we worked together.
And honestly?
It meant a lot to me to feel supported and surrounded.
That's what smart money means to me. 😊
Not just money, but also attention, knowledge and time.
What is the most difficult thing?
Keeping this up. Making it a habit. A collective reflex. And strengthening the momentum.
To everyone who invests with their heart, mind and time: thank you. 🙏
You're not just financing companies.
You're helping to make the impossible... a little bit possible.
And for us, the founders...
that changes everything. Really.
